What do the WIT Adult Advisors do and how can you become one?

The Wikianswers Influential Teens (WIT) Adult Advisors are adults who have been invited by the WIT Program Supervisors to remain in the program when they are over 18 years old.WIT Adult Advisors can continue to do WIT tasks. They also occasionally help the WIT Program Supervisors keep the program running smoothly. For example they will be asked to help nudge the inactive members, scout for new members and so on.WIT Adult Advisors are also there to help answer any questions that WIT members may have and guide them through tasks. If you feel like you need a friend to speak to, again, the WIT Adult Advisors are there for you. However do bear in mind that these are volunteers who visit Answers in their spare time. They are not professional counsellors either, so if you feel you need a professional counsellor to talk to, please ask your school for local advice. What WIT Adult Advisors do:Help the Program Supervisors occasionally.Help nudge the inactive members.Help scout for new members.Provide advice to WIT members about missions.Answer questions asked by WIT members about the program.Be a friendly face for young people on Answers to talk to.What WIT Adult Advisors don't do:Approve your completed tasks.Add new tasks to the WIT page.Kick members out of the program.Edit the program page or forum.Issue badges to WIT members..All in the list above are what the Program Supervisors do. Neither the WIT Program Supervisors nor the WIT Adult Advisors are qualified to provide counselling. How do you become a WIT Adult Advisor?First of all, you need to be an adult. That is anybody above the age of 18. Usually WIT Adult Advisors are selected and invited by the Program Supervisors running WIT (the Program Supervisors will be your superiors). However, if you believe you have what it takes to be a WIT Adult Advisor, or wish to try out the role, you are welcome to get in touch with one of the Program Supervisors. We will then have a quick discussion amongst us, taking your contributions into account.Previously, non-Supervisors could become WIT Adult Advisors. However we have altered the process. We now only accept Supervisors as WIT Adult Advisors. This is for security reasons. In summary, you can either be invited by a WIT Program Supervisor. Or you can nudge a WIT Program Supervisor for consideration.
