The absence of light is Dark or Darkness.

Technically it is the absence of detectable levels of electromagnetic radiation (often termed 'photons', between the infra red (longer) and ultra violet (shorter) wavelength bands, which the human eye is sensitive to without visual aids (i.e. UV Goggles).

What prokaryote can make its own food in the absense of light?

Some prokaryotes, such as certain types of bacteria, are capable of photosynthesis even in the absence of light. They can utilize other energy sources, such as chemical energy from inorganic compounds, to make their own food through a process called chemosynthesis. This allows them to survive in environments where light is not available for photosynthesis.

Is there a chemical that can absorb light and then in the absence of light discharge that light?

There is no chemical that will absorb light and ONLY discharge it in the absense of light, however there are chemicals that will absorb light, store it as heat, and discharge it as light slowly, so that if light is removed it will continue to glow.

What model of color mixing creates black?

We normally think of Black as a color, but we need to understand that Black is no color at all. Black is instead absense of color, or rather absense of light. When you turn off all light in a dark room, then you see nothing. You have successfully "created" black. As for "black" objects we see, this is another aspect of exactly the same thing. The black object simply does not reflect enough light for us to distinguish it as anything but black, or lack of light. In other words, the black objects absorb as much as possible of the light shining on them.

How do you absense?

The correct spelling of the word is absence (being away).

Why does a shadow appear dark?

Due to light hitting the object, and said object obscures the light from reaching the other source, therefore, it is, as is darkness, an absense of light. Hope this helps.
