It is a red giant, 22 million miles in diameter or 35.7 million Kilometers. which is 25.7 times that of the sun and 2/3 the radius of of Mercury's orbit! The difference in size between our Sun and Arcturus would be, if the sun were the size of a BB, Arcturus would be larger than a soft ball about 4.5" or 113mm. Arcturus puts out more than 110 times as much light as the sun and is 36 light years away which is rather close, making it the third brightest star in the sky.
As large as it is there are stars far larger! The largest known star is Pistol. If Arcturus were a BB then Pistol would be a soccer ball and the sun would be a grain of sand! Pistol puts out an unbelievable 10 million times the light of the sun! It is very dim to us because it is 25,000 light years away and is in a cloud of nebula dust. Our sun would not be visible at all at that distance.

Alpha Centauri (Rigil Kentaurus, Rigil Kent, or Toliman) is the brightest star in the southern constellation of Centaurus.
It is actually a binary star, but appears to us as a single star.
It would take 36.7 light years to get to Arcturus from Earth. A light year is a unit of length just like an inch, mile or meter. Nevertheless, a very large unit. It's the distance light would travel in a year, which is about 9,460,730,472,600 km.
Arcturus has an absolute magnitude of −0.30 (note the minus sign)
