The house was located on top of Quick Hill near the town of Round Rock, Texas just off of County Road 172 until 1998 when it was purchased by Dennis and Barbara Thompson whom moved the entire house to the town of Kingsland, Texas where it has been converted to a family restaurant that is located on the grounds of The Antlers Hotel which is located on 1001 King Street off of Highway 1431. The restaurant was at one time dubbed the Kingsland Old Town Grill, but is now called The Junction House, which is a play on the rail cars that are on the grounds of the hotel, which have been converted to suites for guests to stay in.

There is no Texas Chainsaw Massacre house. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a fictional movie, not a true event in U.S. history. It never actually happened in real life. See the Related Question for more detailed information.

You’re a fkn stupid @$$ if you think that. It’s based off a real life serial killer by the name of Edward Gein. He dug up people’s grave and cut their skin off to wear as a mask. Leather face is a fictional character but it’s not a fictional story.

Having worked on the 2004 remake, the location of the new Hewitt house is off the highway between Granger and Taylor, Texas. The old location for the original movie was off of the northern end of the MoPac Expressway heading to Round Rock Texas. It is correct that the house was moved from it's original site near the water tank on the hill to a new location and wedded onto another building to create a restaurant. The current Hewitt house is about 1/4 mile off the hwy and the owners are not friendly to visitors, so use your binoculars, but don't drive up to it! Word has it that someone has died in real life in every room of the house. That's why they live in the cottage out back.

What is the name of a horror film about teens finding a backwoods family?

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, or House of 1000 Corpses. There could be others with a similar plot, though.

Is the chainsaw massacre still alive?

Although The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was touted as a true story, it really isn't. It was merely inspired by a true story. There is a big difference. In the words of another answerer, "The true parts are: there is Texas, chainsaws are sold there."The creators had heard the Ed Gein story. Gein, from Plainfield, WI killed several women on his remote farm and made furniture and clothes out of the bodies. Gein was found insane and lived the rest of his life institutionalized until his death in the 1970s.Gein also inspired the book Psycho that was later made into a hit movie by director Alfred Hitchcock in the 1960s. Gein was also the inspiration for the Buffalo Bill character in The Silence of the Lambs. And both The Silence of the Lambsand Psycho are fictional stories too, just like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre has about as much truth in it as Psycho and The Silence of the Lambs: almost none. A few tiny grains of fact do not a true story make. So, the only true part of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was that Ed Gein wore the skin of his victims like clothing, decapitated and disemboweled them before hanging them up in his house, and may possibly have eaten some of their remains.Ed Gein merely sparked the idea for a fictional story (three fictional stories, rather). Neither The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, nor Psycho, nor The Silence of the Lambs are "based on a true story." They are merely inspired by one.Movies are not actually alive, however much they may come to life on the screen.

Was there a man like chain saw massacre?

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was loosely based on the story of Ed Gein who was a killer in the 70's and had heads and other organs in his house and shed and a lamp shade made out of human skin

What is the most famous Texas horror movie?

The most notorious Texas based horror movie would probably be "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre". However, there are other popular horror movies that took place in Texas, such as "The Devil's Rejects" and "House of 1000 Corpses".

Who was the real person from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre?

There is no "real" person from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a fictional story, and Leatherface (who was played by Gunnar Hansen in the original 1973 film) is a fictional character. The moviemakers got the idea for the Leatherface character from the serial killer Ed Gein. That doesn't mean the movie is based on a true story. Just because a writer gets an idea for a story from real life, doesn't mean the story is based on the truth.A book/movie that is "based on a true story" is one that strives to portray the truth as accurately as possible. No such attempt was made with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Absolutely everything about it is fiction, except for two, possibly three things: Ed Gein wore the skin of his victims, gutted them and hung them up in his house, and MAY have eaten some of their remains.See the Related Question below for more details.

What hospital is the Texas Chainsaw Massacre killer at now?

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre never happened in real life. It is a fictional story. The character Leatherface was loosely -- very, very loosely -- based on the real-life serial killer Ed Gein. But so were the characters Norman Bates (from Psycho) and Buffalo Bill (from The Silence of the Lambs), and those movies are fictional, too.The only thing about The Texas Chainsaw Massacre that's true is that Ed Gein wore the skin of his victims like clothes, gutted them and hung them up in his house, and may possibly have eaten some of their remains.EVERYTHING else is fiction. See the Related Question below for more details.

When did The Texas Chainsaw Massacre come out?

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a movie, it is an inanimate object. Therefor it has never been alive, and cannot die. If you are asking 'when did Leatherface die?', he is a fictional character. He has never been alive either.

Where did the Texas Chain Saw Massacre happen?

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre never happened in real life. It is fiction. Tobe Hooper got the idea for the Leatherface character from the serial killer Ed Gein (who lived in Wisconsin), but other than that, it is entirely fictional. See the Related Question below for more information. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre movie was filmed in Austin, Round Rock and Bastrop, Texas, and lasted for four weeks.
