It depends on your fitness level, age, weight, etc. But in general, strenuous exercise for more than an hour and a half or so is a bit too much for most people because it wouldn't be good for your health.
Some of the days are quite long, and the walking feels more strenuous at altitude.
There are several websites where an individual can find long-term workout plans. Examples would include Strength Mentor, Livestrong, Refinery 29, and Step to Health.
The same as if you would do anythng strenuous too long - you'll get tired, sore, maybe some chafing. There can be overexertion issues ASO.
I would suggest that you start with a DVD workout and see how you get along with that. It's way cheaper than gym membership, and as long as you are motivated you should get good results from using it (and at a fraction of the cost of a gym workout)
It should be just running long distance every day. I would recommend it
