What is the advantage and disadvantage of war in business?

This question has several answers depending on the location of the business and whether the business is located in a country that is at war with Another Country.

The examples can begin with the United States both at war & neutral:

1. The USA as a neutral country, as in the beginning of the first 2 world wars, made the companies in the USA increase their business volume & profits. In both wars, European orders for food & weapons were increased;

2. The USA at war in the above-mentioned wars, was geographically a safe place for companies. In this case companies supplying food, weapons & war materials not only had increased volume from US Allies, but also from the US Government;

A. European companies in a country at war have different scenarios. A business in France in WW2, was "lost" as Germany occupied France. Yes some companies had to produce consumer goods, but these countries also had to send workers to Germany to work in German companies. So basically, it was a mixed situation, but tilted toward the negative side allot in as much as they were under the directions of Germany; and

B. In England, part of the industrial structure was destroyed by the German bombing attacks. Those outside of the range of German aircraft were free to maximize their industrial output and on balance prospered, depending of course on the British Government's ability to pay.
