What is the advantage of being endothermic?

Is the reaction going on in a rechargeable battery while it is recharging exothermic or endothermic?
To be endothermic basically means to be "warm-blooded", which has a great advantage. Ectothermic (cold-blooded) creatures such as reptiles and amphibians have to bask in the sun in order to get their bodies energized and hence do not function well in cold conditions. Endothermic animals on the other hand, namely birds and mammals, keep a constant body temperature so they always have energy to spare.
The big advantage to being exothermic is that the animals save a huge amount of energy. In contrast, endothermal or warm blooded animals use roughly one third of the energy they ingest for heating. The big disadvantage in being exothermic is that moving, digesting and reproducing generaly use more energy and take longer to start up.
Endothermic: when heat is being released to form a hot surface Exothermic: when heat is absorbed to make something cold Endothermic: happens when two or more reactants comes together and release energy Exothermic: reations occur much less frequently the exothermic Endothermic: an ex. Of an exothermic would be an explotion Exothermic: an example would be cooking or baking
