The mechanical advantage of a rigging that will require upward pull can be determined by counting the number of rope lengths running between engaged pulleys and those doing the work. Likewise, if the assembly will require downward pull, count the ropes and subtract one to get the mechanical advantage number. The subtraction is necessary because with the fixed pulley, the downward pull equals the load on the other length of rope so the last "pull" rope does not provide any mechanical advantage.

All models of mx3 have the same option for the steering position, you need to pull down the clamp of the lower side of the steering wheel, then its going to be free , once its in position just pull up the clamp to lock it in place

In my 00', Golf which is probably the same as yours there is a latch under the steering column. Pull down on it and it should release. The steering wheel neck should then become adjustable. From that point adjust to your liking and then push bottom latch back into original position.
The only special tool you need is a steering wheel pull. You can usually get a loaner from the parts place. To take the steering wheel off first you need to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for 5 minutes to disrupt the current to the airbags so they won't blow on you. Then, you take the horn button loose and disconnect the wiring to it. Then pull the airbag off by taking 2 bolts off the back of the steering wheel. Then disconnect the wiring to the air bag. Mark the position of the steering wheel on the shaft so you can get it back on straight. Then put the puller on the steering wheel and pull it off. Piece of cake!
remove the shroud covering the steering coloum and turn the key to the on position push in release pin over ignition and pull cylinder out.
Remove the covers to the steering column, then use a small screw driver and push in tab on bottom of cylinder with key in run position and pull out.

take the hoses off of it and unbolt the steering column from the box, pull the steering link arm off the bottom of the box and then unbolt the box from the frame and pull it out.
