The gun was made by SKB in Japan and imported by Ithaca, starting in 1966. I don't know when your particular gun was made.
With a serial number preceded with an "S" , I'm betting it was SKB of Japan
These were actually made by SKB in Japan and imported by Ithaca. Very nice little double, and really well balanced in 20ga. I have the SKB 'Royal Light' which was a similar model not imported into the US. Depending on condition, $500-$700. sales@countrygunsmith.net
It means that your gun was built in 1997 in Japan.
Monitor www.gunbroker.com for comparables. If in very good condition it would probably sell for $500-$600 or so.
The letters PY that are in the middle of your serial number, indicate that your Browning Auto-5 Magnum shotgun was made in the year 1982.
Browning.com has sn data under customer service.
Not all of the serial number is listed. I can tell that it was made in Japan in 1999, but there should be a product code following the "NN". Please provide more information such as action: ie Pump, Over/Under, Automatic, and any other identifiers
Medieval Japan didn't have shotguns.
Japan gave the serial killers hitory with 12 serial killers to date.
First lets start with the fact that the Browning auto-5 Magnum was made from 1958-1976 in Belgium. After words the Auto-5 magnum was made by Miroku of Japan for Browning from 1976-1995.If your shotgun was made in Belgium,it should have a suffix to the serial number of 8V or 9V etc.If your shotgun nwas made in Japan then it should have a 2 letter code in the serial number sequence. It may be that if you do not have either then you do not have a Magnum version of the auto-5 shotgun. Please re-check your serial number and info on the receiver and repost your question to get the correct year of production.
No. These were made in Japan and imported by the old Ithaca Gun Company between 1972 and 1978.
