The production date is on the barrel just in front of the reciever. .Assuming it still has the original barrel. the code stamped in letters --was black powder- with the letters coresponding to the numbers-B/1 L/2 A/3 and so on thru R/0 and was month and then the year this info is old and there are new serial # s that this won't work with.
the serial number is not a remington rand serial number. it is a colt commercial 1911. you have a rem-rand slide on a colt frame. sorry.
