What is the aim for red cross?

To give medical aid to people on any side of a conflict. Red Cross is able to operate on both sides of a conflict because they maintain strict neutrality. If they treated one side and not the other they would loose access to prisoners of war on the side they had denied treatment.

This has made Red Cross controversial. In WWII they kept concentration camps secret in order to be allowed to provide aid and medicine to Allied and Axis soldiers.
