The ambassador program is Nintendo's way of thanking and compensating consumers who bought the 3DS before the price of the system was dropped to $170 on August 12th. This was done due to the fact that the price was dropped so early after the system's launch.
Ambassadors will have access to 10 NES Virtual Console games on September 1st. These games will be free and will be made available to ambassadors before the general public.
In addition, ambassadors will also receive 10 GBA Virtual Console games for free by the end of the year. Unlike the NES games they will not be made available to the public.
To become an ambassador you must have connected to the Nintendo eShop by 11:59 PM eastern time on August 11th.
