How many amps does a 220 ac use?

There is no standard Amperage for a 220 volt outlet. It all depends on the wires/conductors used to supply the outlet and the breaker that protects it. You can have an outlet with: 15 amp, 220 volt 20 amp, 220 volt And so on.....

If I want to know the amperage for each outlet on a power strip can I simply divide the total amps by the number of outlets?

If you want to know the amperage for each outlet on a power strip then check the nameplate current on the device that is plugged into that outlet on the power strip. Power strips usually have their own breaker that will trip at 15 amps. If you load the strip to its maximum capacity there is a good chance that it will trip before the distribution circuit breaker will trip. You can not simply divide the total amps by the number of outlets as each device will have a different amperage and depending on where it is plugged into the strip these amperage's in a set position will change.

What is cooking range outlet?

It is a receptacle outlet wired into a home with the capacity to handle the amperage rating of the range. The cord on the range plugs into this receptacle to receive its power supply so that the range can operate.

Do you need a 110 v power strip to plug into 110 v outlet?

Nominally 110 to 120 volt power strip is okay to connect to a standard outlet.

Does an electric lift chair use a standard electrical outlet or does it need 220 power?

Although both options exist, it would seem that the vast majority of electric chair lifts require a standard outlet. The outlet, however, must be grounded (three prongs).

Does one outlet in a house carry more amperage than another outlet?

Usually no. In the regular home, outlets give out the same amount of power. Every outlet does have limitations. Most outlets can handle up to 15 Amps, however outlets in the garage or outdoors usually handle 20 amps.

Can you plug a motion detector light into an outlet?

Yes of course, power is power, all 110volt, what ever the source in your house (except a dryer circuit that is usually higher). The difference is the amperage of the circuit. Lighting circuits have amperage controlling breakers that are usually 15amp, power circuits are usually 20amp but excepting a very very unusual condition you would not need to worry about it.

What does the key symbol mean on a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser power outlet?

What is circuit amperage?

Generally speaking an appliance (eg tv) is supplied with power so when it is off it has voltage supplied. After yo turn it on it starts to draw power called amperage the voltage doesn't get higheur but the amperage does Amperage is the load being drawn through a circiut

What is the difference between a power outlet and cigarette outlet?

What size fuse should be used for 2 amp power supply?

If the 2 amps is the output amperage of the power supply, the maximum that should be drawn from the unit is 2 amps. The load amperage that is connected to the power supply should govern the amperage of the fuse used. There is not much range there, the fusing could go from .25 to 2 amps. If the input amperage is 2 amps then the input and output voltage of the power supply should be stated.
