Islam is a religion. The followers of Islam religion are called Muslims. Around 23% of world population are Muslims. Refer to the related question, listed below, for more information on Islam main principles.
There is no "one world religion." There are many different cultures throughout the world and many different religions. Some nations have an official religion for their country, but there isn't a "one world religion" of any kind. Christianity is the most commonly practiced religion in the world, but it certainly isn't the ONLY religion of the world, neither is it the official religion of the world.
Questions that ask what religion is best are asking for opinions. Some will say Islam is the best, others Christianity and still others another religion. Some will even say there is no "best religion because all religion is bad." In a world full of problems, it is not really a question of what religion is "the best." It is a question of people accepting other's views and attempting to live together in harmony. To me, whichever religion promotes that and practices it, if any, is the "best."
HINDUISM - The World's Ancient RELIGION.
There is no right or wrong in this question. But I think people will not preach about their religion, nor will there be prayers, mentioning of God, or debate over who is right. I don't think we would be even humans without religion because it's the religion who makes us humans.
