What is the appaerance of a kestrel?

American kestrels are unlike most other Birds of Prey in that the male and females of the species have different feather patterns. A male American Kestrel will typically be 1/3 smaller then he female and will have blue-gray outer wings a blue-gray cap a heavily streaked breast and a reddish brown tail with a single black bar on the end. A female will be larger and more light brown overall with a light brown tail with darker stripes on it. Both the male and the female have long pointed wings a long tail and large eyes.
