In college text books they do not acknowledge that the appendix has any valuable function. However lets think about it because these are the facts:

The appendix stores seeds that you eat and it is part of the digestive tract to absorb nutrients and fluid. Seeds are loaded with nutritional value. They take longer to absorb.

If you give your appendix nutrient rich seeds you will have a healthy appendix.

If you do something like eat a lot of cooked black pepper this will irritate your appendix cause inflammation and possibly a bursted appendix. This is because of the chemical change with cooked black pepper as a seed that occurs after cooking not in it's raw state.

What is the function of the human cecum and appendix in the digestive system?

The cecum and appendix in the digestive system serve as reservoirs for beneficial bacteria and aid in immune function.

Do men have an appendix?

Yes, men have an appendix. The appendix is a small organ located at the junction of the small and large intestines. It is a vestigial organ with no known essential function in the human body.

What do scientists think an appendix is used for?

Scientists believe that the appendix may play a role in immune function, serving as a reservoir for beneficial gut bacteria. It could also help regenerate gut flora after an illness. However, the exact function of the appendix is still not completely understood.

Body structures that don't seem to have a function?

One example of a body structure that doesn't seem to have a function is the human appendix. This small, pouch-like organ located near the junction of the small and large intestines has historically been considered a vestigial structure with no clear purpose in modern humans. Other examples include remnants of the tailbone in humans and wisdom teeth, which are often considered vestigial structures that served a purpose in our ancestors but are less functional in present-day humans.

What organ system does the colon and appendix belong to?

Both the colon and the attached appendix are part of the digestive system. But the appendix has other functions that are not part of that system. It is thought by some that it may be involved in the immune system. Researchers in the United States say the appendix produces and protects good germs for the gut by "rebooting" the digestive system. The team of immunologists at Duke University Medical Center say the human digestive system contains massive amounts of bacteria most of which are good and help the digestion of food.

What organ has no known function?

The appendix is an organ that was previously thought to have no function, but recent research suggests it may play a role in immune function.

What does the organ appendix do?

In humans the appendix is a vestigal organ and has no function that we are currently aware of.

What is function of vermiform appendix?

It has no digestive function, yes It is [wrongly] thought to be a vestigial structure. It has recently been brought to Light that the appendix is a storage facility for intestinal flora, that is needed to repopulate the Gut, after some bio-catastrophe depopulates the Gut.

What system is the appendix in?

The appendix is anatomically part of the digestion system but its' function is part of the immune system.
