the appendix has no function There was an article on the internet recently that said that scientists think that the function of the appendix is that it stores bacteria so that if one's system is cleared of all "good" bacteria, the appendix can then start a new supply of those necessary bacteria. If this is true, then the appendix DOES have a function.
While the appendix and coccyx may not serve a critical function in humans, they are believed to be remnants from our evolutionary past. The appendix may have played a role in digesting certain types of food in our ancestors, while the coccyx is a vestigial structure from when our ancestors had tails. While they may not be necessary in modern humans, they do not necessarily harm us either.
Homeostasis is is the process of keeping your body running without variation; keeping your body temperature from getting too hot, for example.
it has more human cells actually the human body has more bacterial cells. Although it may seem more likely that the human body would have more human cells than bacterial cells. -Vasillisa
Some do. Certainly aquatic ones such as whales and dolphins.
he Appendix and the Tonsils seem to have no significant function. And, although not organs, one could argue that the Coccyx and some of the toes are redundant. But not the big toe!Added:Vestigial organs.
vestigial
Seem is the operative word here. Vestigial structureshave another job from the original bob they did in the organism.
vestigial
well i'd hope so. you dont seem like a very caring boy/girlfriend.
Your organs will go back to their place after pregnancy. They seem pressed together when you are pregnant. Once the baby is out your body will adjust.
Maltese puppies seem like fun and cute, and cozy dogs. They dont seem like much work. I dont hv one but they seem adorable.
you dont seem to know why. i guess you dont know
vestigial structure-such as the human appendix, doesn't seem to have a function and may once have functioned in the body of an ancestor..:)
Through evolutionary changes, an organism might retain a lasting organ or anatomical feature that is no longer useful. The appendix is a vestigial organ in humans- it serves no purpose but may have been useful before a major change in the digestive system.
Your body heats up, the feeling of temperature is relative.
