i would recommend ranged armors, such as leather armor, hard leather studded armor and green dragon hide for f2p players and snake skin, frog skin armor and red/ black dragon hide for p2p players. But these require ranged and defense level
to wear them. I would recommend to level up your ranged to 40 and wear dragon hide chaps and vambraces. they are quite cheap compared to their defense stats. or get to level 40 defense and finish dragon slayer and wear dragon hide body. combat robes and other robes are useful against magic, but they are expensive and has lower stats compared to the dragon hide armor. Also, you have to recharge robes or it is useless.
