The term is hardly ever used in astronomy - the Universe is not generally believed to be eternal in the past, and if it is eternal in the future, it will not be a ... meaningful existence, since after a while the Universe will not be able to support any life, and will in general become quite boring. If the term is ever needed, the same term will be used as in everyday life, i.e., "eternity".
