Atomic number is a property of an atom (An Element) and not a chemical compound. Sodium chloride is a compound and thus it can not have any atomic number.

Atomic number is the number of protons present in the nucleus of the atom of an element. e.g. Carbon has six protons in its nucleus, therefore its atomic number is six. However, Sulfuric Acid has two different elements as its constituents and therefore one can not determine its atomic number.

Sulfuric acid itself does not have an atomic number as it is not an element. Sulfuric acid is a compound that is comprised of two atoms of hydrogen, 1 sulfur and 4 oxygens. To determine the "atomic mass" of sulfuric acid, just add up the atomic masses for each of 7 atoms that it is made of.

Nitric acid is not an element, and only elements have atomic numbers, therefore nitric acid doesn't have an atomic number.
