I think that this is an impossible question to answer "correctly"

The reasons for this is that prices vary between companies selling, and also how green you are going.

It depends on price of workers and price of raw-materials.

It depends how much work you are doing yourself when building the home.

I have seen some green homes built in Denmark, and the walls were made of a wooden structure filled with straw as insulation.

Straw is cheap, but not much used for this purpose.

Good planning, and you can build a cheap and very good home, maybe even for less than a similar house with not so "green" materials.

One important thing to consider when building "green" is if the lifespan of building is expected to be as good as a less "green" building.

If lifespan is expected to be less, then maybe more traditional materials will be more green in the long term.

It is however amazing how some companies are making extreme profit on "green" products that otherwise would be nothing more than fuel for heaters.

Green products should be cheap, but it vary from company to company offering them.

I am afraid this answer will leave you with more questions.

I am however surprised if Green homes can not be built within the budget of a not green home.
