The evaporation rate of an indoor swimming pool has many factors to consider. 1.) How large is the pool? 2.) What temperature are you keeping the pool water at? 3.) What temperature are you keeping your poolroom at? 4.) Are you using a pool cover? An example would be..... If you have a 300 sq. ft. pool and are keeping the pool at 82 degrees and the room at 84 degrees your evaporation rate would be 10.35 pounds per hour at a static level (no activity). If you do have an indoor pool or are considering having an indoor pool you will need to use mechanical dehumidification to handle the evaporation rate of your pool to protect the structure. Please email me direct if I can further assist you in that area. Regards, Michele Environmental Pool Systems www.dry-air.com

Would heating or cooling a pool decrease evaporation?

Heating a pool will increase the rate of evaporation from that pool.

Pool evaporation rate?

What is Pool evaporation rate in Florida?

The Rate at which a pool evaporates depends on the relative humidity in the air surounding it.

What is the evaporation rate of a solar pool heating system on a swimming pool?

What is the average rate of evaporation of an outdoor pool?

It depends a lot on the temperature and humidity. Here in Southern Arizona it is 110 degrees and 10% humidity (hot and dry) right now, and my pool loses about an inch every three days or so. Wind is also a major factor in evaporation. The quicker the moisture is pushed off the top of the pool the faster it is replaced with more. Windy equals increased evaporation rates.

How much water should a pool lose in April?

The National Weather Service uses a large water pan with a diameter of 4 feet. They measure the drop in water level in one day, fill it back to the level it was before and measure the level drop the next day. They and others do this all over the United States. Others do it throughout the world. The Weather Service reports the evaporation at each location, each day, and sum all these daily values up to obtain an annual evaporation rate in inches. All the data through the US is collected and compiled into an annual evaporation map. Looking at the annual evaporation map one can find the average annual evaporation rate for any location. It is roughly 100 inches for Tucson, Arizona. The evaporation rate varies with temperature, wind speed, sunshine, and relative humidity. The evaporation rate also varies throughout the year. A rough daily rate is given by dividing the annual rate by 365 days. Rough daily evaporation rate = Annual Evaporation rate / 365 For Tucson the rough evaporation rate is 100 inches/365 which is about 1/3 inch per day. Swimming pool If we use this rough evaporation rate, we can find how much a swimming pool water level might drop in 5 days Total surface drop = (5 days) (daily evaporation rate)

Does the color of water effect its evaporation in a pool?

The color of water does affect the evaporation rate because the red water is more dense then regular clear water.

Will a darker pool liner cause more water evaporation?

A dark pool liner might cause a very small increase in water evaporation, but nothing significant. The dark pool liner will raise the water temp a bit which, in turn, may increase the evaporation rate. But, the evaporation rate is much more dependent upon the air temperature and humidity than on the water temp, so the increase in water temp would only have a very small effect on the overall or net water evaporation rate. Hope this helps ... yes, it will, and it could be a significant increase.

What happens to the rate if evaporation of a liquid as the liquid is cooled?

Rate of evaporation depends on temperature. As Temp decreases, so does the rate of evaporation.

If you have an indoor heated pool what is the perfect air temperature for the room if you keep the pool between 89-93 degrees?

Ordinarily the design temperature for the air in the pool room would be 2 degree F higher than that of the pool water. The usual design temperature for the watre in indoor pools is 84 deg F However if the water temperature is higher then the room air would usually be left at around 86 deg F and the dehumidification equipment would be sized accordingly - using these figures. This will result in a higher rate of evaporation, which will automatically be taken care of by the dehumifier - this is assuming that it has been sized and designed properly. Peter Fenton. How does increase in temperature surface area wind speed affect evaporation?

These are all variables used to calculate evaporation rate: The larger the surface area the higher the evaporation (rate) The higher the wind speed the higher the evaporation (rate) The higher the temperature the higher the evaporation (rate) The higher the relative humidity the lower the evaporation (rate)

How much water evaporation is normal for an inground pool in Northern NJ?

Simple evaporation test: Mark your water level of your pool, (make sure that the auto feed valve is off). Place a bucket with water next to the pool and mark the level. (keep the dog away as this will affect the outcome. Periodically monitor your levels. The pool and the bucket should have the same rate od evaporation. If the pool level drops below the bucket- you have a leak. If the bucket drops past the pool level- you have a thirsty dog.

How fast does swimming pool water evaporate?

It depends on whether the pool is considered "enclosed" inside a pool house or not. The assumption in such case is that the pool house prevents "outside" air circulation which enables the humidity inside that "house" to be maintained at a high level which minimizes evaporation. It goes without saying then that if you keep the doors to your pool house open then you loose much of the evaporative benefit of having the pool enclosed. In any case, high ambient outside air temperature will increase the pool evaporation rate but an enclosure should slow it down. Pool covers can also decrease evaporation rate. More input from FAQ Farmers: * Go to Arizona edu. There you will see a contour map of the U.S. providing annual evaporation rates in inches of loss per year. Find the rate for your area. Divide the rate by 365 to get the daily rate in inches of loss per day. * If you are concerned of a leak place a bucket of water on the steps of the pool and fill it so that the level equals the pool(u might have to weigh the bucket down with a rock or something) check the level the next day to see if they both evaporated the same.
