beyatch,
Various wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation.
The Sun's energy reaches Earth in the form of "electromagnetic radiation". Most of the heat is carried by the visible light, but there are other parts of the "spectrum" of radiation involved such as the infra-red. Much of the heat reaches you after being absorbed by the Earth in various ways and given out again. This heat contains a lot more infra-red than direct sunlight.
No we are not able to see proton neutron or electron by visible electromagnetic radiation. So no one have picture of it, but these can be detected by various sensors.
ALL of the electromagnetic spectrum except for that narrow band that we can perceive. There are many names for various portions, mainly because they were discovered at different times by different people. For example : radio, infra-red, ultra-violet, X-rays, heat, microwaves, etc. -
I would expect the total radiation to be equal to the sum of the individual radiations.
Electromagnetic waves are classified according to their wavelength and frequency and this classification is called electromagnetic spectrum.
Various wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation.
Energy from the Sun reaches Earth as radiation from various parts of the electromagnetic spectrum. Some of this energy . Some of this energy is converted to heat. Some remains as visible light.
It is very easy to use!
Various electromagnetic radiation, heat (via infrared),
Electromagnetic waves were predicted, by calculations, by James Clerk Maxwell. Later, different parts of the electromagnetic spectrum were either discovered or confirmed to be electromagnetic waves by various scientists.
The constant noise in the electromagnetic spectrum, caused by various sources, from lightning on Jupiter to someone using an electric razor. There is electromagnetic energy present across the frequency spectrum, which is called 'noise' because it carries no intelligence that we can discern.

Radio Waves are in the lower end of the electromagnetic spectrum and have wavelengths between several hundred feet (AM Radio) to fractions of an inch (Microwave communications). X-Rays are high energy photons at the upper end of the electromagnetic spectrum, with wavelengths shorter than visible light, measured in nanometers to picometers. Color wise, Red is the longest visible, while Violet is the shortest wavelength of visible light. There are many graphical charts of the electromagnetic spectrum that show where the various waves fit in relation to each other, these can be found on an internet image search.
Frequency, wavelength and energy are the only differences. They are all roughly equivalent as well, in that knowing one means knowing the others for EM radiation.

The radiation left over from the big bang is found in the microwave region of the electromagnetic spectrum. As the universe expanded and cooled, the intense hard gamma radiation that existed became radio waves in the low gigahertz region, characteristic of a temperature around 30 Kelvin.
