Surging. Rushing. Roaring. Shooting.
Octopus do not have fins. They swim by using their arms and body. If they need to go very fast, they squirt water out of their siphon and use "jet propulsion." Mostly, an octopus will just crawl around on the bottom to get around. Some Octopus do have ear like appendage's with which the use to propel themselves through the water also. They are also refereed to as Dumbo Octopus.
An octopus take in water and removes oxygen from it. Then it sends the water out of its body through a short funnel. When it gets scared it shoots the water out in a fast jet. It is called Jet Propulsion.

You could go up and knock on it's door and ask,but if it's shooting at you it's a safe bet it's some sort of an attack vehicle. If it's shooting at you AND moving fast, It's definitely a fast attack vehicle. If it's shooting at you and moving slow, it might be a slow attack vehicle, or it might be a fast attack trying to conserve fuel.(If it's not shooting, it may be trying to conserve ammunition too)It it's moving at you at a medium speed, and just shooting a little...well, you get the idea.
Rephrase this please.
