there are a few websites that act as IM clients for iPod touch, along with one (as far as i know) actual application that you can use if your ipod touch/iphone is jailbroken. If you are mainly concerned with AIM, then a client called TinyBuddy IM is for you. It can be found at x.aim.com/ty. This program is extremely user friendly with a perfect ipod touch interface to match Apples programming scheme. Also, as far as multiple IM services go, (MSN, etc.) there are two sites i know of, flickim.com, and meebo.com. Also aimonpsp.com is an alternative for ipod touch although it was originally designed for PSP. A program called Apollo can be downloaded from installer if your ipod is jailbroken, although i have heard that there have been a few bugs with this program.
