A great weed and feed to use on St. Augustine grass is Scotts Bonus S Southern Weed and Feed. It will green up and thicken your St. Augustine grass while elimiating most broadleaf weeds including Dollarweed.
Animal Manuer. As a rule of thumb the smeller the better.
Mr. Ed
There is a chemical in weed n feed that is harmless to grass but deadly to weeds. they also put grass fertilizer in it.
I would not recommend any weed and feed. These two processes work much better if done individually. There are good times to weed and good times to fertilizer. But unless you really know what, when and how you are applying then using a weed and feed is a waste of money. Most weed killers or preventers and fertilizer require difference soil temps, mosture, air temps, etc. So if you feed when you should weed you don't get the best results and if you weed when you should feed not the best results. Also it depends on the type of grass you have and the area you live in. Be it a warm season grasses or cool season grasses. I am in the Atlanta area zone 8. Here, for instance, Bermudagrass is best fertilized in April, June and mid September. Post- emergent weed control is best in May to early June. Pre-emergent is best in March. You will get a much better job for your money if you do both seperately. These weed and feed mixes are just a way to get homeowners to spend money by making the job look easier. Don't fall for that and weed and feed at the correct time for each process. Hope this helps.
At your local feed store. It is sold as animal feed. (It can also be used as a fertilizer and seed sprout inhibitor, (hence its use as a sort of "Weed&Feed".
