It depends on what type of sound you're going for. Yamaha saxophones have a darker tone then the Selmer because of the lacquer. Yamahas are generally cheaper then Selmers but Selmers have been the choice of saxophonists like Charlie "Bird" Parker and John Coltrane. go to a music store and ask to try them all. everyone has their opinions.
