The best BB rifle is the one you can afford. But let me give you more detail.
BB rifles are not as accurate as Pellet rifles. Because BB rifles use a smooth bore barrel. Pellet rifles use a rifled bore barrel. BB's don't spin when shot out of the barrel, they tumble. Pellets spin as they leave the barrel. This makes them more accurate.
When you say "BEST" do you mean accurate, quality or power. What is your definition of "best".
If this is your first rifle then I suggest a Daisy red ryder. Learn to use it properly, then move up to other rifles.
See the link below for various BB/Pellet rifles and select one that you like. I suggest the Crosman M4-177. but look at them al first
The best for what? Paintball, .177 Pellet, 6 mm pellet or bb rifle?
BB rifles and BB guns are neither accurate or powerful. Basically because of the design of the barrel. Most BB guns use a smooth bore barrel. Where as pellet rifles use a rifled bore barrel. It has grooves that make the pellet spin and fly straighter. BB's tumble when fired out of the barrel. BB guns can injure you but never attain the accuracy, power or speed of a pellet rifle. The best BB rifle I know of (NOT Pellet only rifle) is the Daisy 880. It is capable of firing both BB and single shot Pellets.
My understanding is the model 938 was a toy rifle not a bb rifle, but I did find out it was made in 1988
Which model, what is the condition of the BB gun or is it a BB rifle..
Austria invented the first air rifle in the 1500's. The BB rifle was invented in the USA.
This would be a BIG mistake if you used BB'S in the Phantom. The Phantom is a pellet rifle not a BB rifle. The barrel of the rifle is a "Rifled barrel" meaning it has grooves that make the pellet spin as it's fired out of the rifle. BB's are hard and will destroy the rifling in the barrel. Making it not as accurate. BB guns and BB rifles usually are smooth bore like a straw and BB's have not effect on the barrel. BB guns are a lot less accurate that Pellet guns. Pellets spin when shot, BB's tumble when fired, this is why they are less accurate.

Your best bet is to contact Marksman directly See the link below
The Daisy is a low powered BB rifle. It is capable of killing a squirrel but the rodent will suffer before death. It is best to use a pellet rifle not a BB rifle. I also suggest using hollow point pellets for rodent control. Pellet deform when they hit a target and make a clean kill. BB do not deform and are a poor rodent control weapon.
It all depends on who made the rifle and what condition it's in..
I would suggest an AirSoft BB gun. Not a Paintball or steel BB gun. Unless you have someone who is familiar with firearms then I would get him a Daisy Buck BB rifle and an adult to teach him the respect and rules of handling the rifle. The "Daisy Buck" is designed as a starter BB rifle for youngsters.
I know of No Crosman BB GUN model V35C. However Crosman made a V350 BB Rifle from 1962 to 69. If this is the rifle you are asking about please post the condition of the rifle. ( excellent, good, fair or poor.) It was a push barrel rifle. Is it in working condition? Repost with the information.
