I like to start with the cheapest 'house brand' that I can find, and then start cleaning out the pantry and refrigerator for condiments such as ketchup AND mustard, spices (mostly Italian), sugars (Dark brown, light brown, white, and HONEY and molasses), oils (Olive AND vegetable), BACON!, bouillion cubes (beef AND chicken), onions, garlic, and stewed tomatoes.
So my answer = my own.
Don't forget the diced green (bell) peppers, and possibly a bit of picante sauce to 'give it a kick'.
