It depends on the horse itself. Hanoverians are great dressage horses, and if you want a three day event horse, Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horses. Some other dressage horses can be Morgans, Friesians and if you want to do dressage noncompetitive, Haflingers can execute dressage movements.
There really is no perfect answer for this; all horses are different. But the most popular are Lippizanners, Andalusians, Friesians, and warmblooded horses.
The Welsh cob
their is no one horse breed that is not good at dressage. look for a horse that has high comformation and endurance or ask the mods for their help.
There is no certain height to a "dressage horse," it mainly depends on what breed you want to get and if that certain horse has been bred to do that job.
Usually english. This breed of horse excels at dressage.
Friesians are a good horse to excel in trotting, they also do well in dressage.
A Kladruber, which is a very rare breed of horse which was origionally used to pull royal carriages, but is now used for riding and dressage.
I did a little research and would suggest a warmblood-type horse if it was used specifically for dressage. For eventing, I would choose to breed a Clydesdale mare to a Thoroughbred stallion. These crosses provide excellent jumping horses with great stamina and strength.
Palominos are not a breed of horse, they are meerly a color pattern. If you are looking for a good 'breed' of horse, first figure out what you want done with the horse. Ex. If you are looking for a horse to barrel race, a Percheron would not be your best choice (a quarter horse would be better suited). If you want a dressage horse, do not choose a Norwegian Fjord (go for a Freisan, Thoroughbred, or Cleveland bay)
Welsh Cob---Answer From Horse Isle Also, any breed of horse that is gaited. These are horses bred to provide a comfortable ride because of a special gait. Usually, a gaited horse has a conformation that makes dressage difficult for it to perform.
the breed doesnt matter. you could have some 100,000 dollar imported warmblood and a 30,000 dollar quarter horse could beat the warmblood
Sport horses are most oftenly seen the dressage ring--that includes namely Warmbloods, Hanovarians, Oldenburgs, and Thoroughbreds. However, any horse can do lower level dressage (my personal favorite is the Arabian, although those are rare in the show ring).
Purebred Spanish Horse, Friesian, Arabian, Argentinean Criollo and Akhal-Teke are the best I've found. They all have speed, stamina, and dressage as their top three skills.
