In my opinion the Rockford fosgate T2 subs are the best. They are pricey but well worth it. I have a t2 15" powered by a Rockford fosgate t2001bd (2000 watts) and it is the best system I've had.

According to most younger people in my area, Memphis is the best of the best in car subwoofers. They are definately loud and clear, but the car has to be well-built enough to not rattle when the bass is pumping.
