Infernape is a good fire-type Pokemon, which is evolved from monferno. Monferno is evolved from the starter Pokemon chimchar. You can get chimchar at the beginning of the game from the professor when he asks you to choose your starter Pokemon.

∙ 13y agoI would strongly suggest Infernape, by choosing chimchar as your starter pokemon.
You can also get a ponyta on route 214, which will eventually evolve into a rapidash, which is pretty good.

∙ 12y agowell the best fire type in my opinion would be infernape... but if you started with ether piplup or turtwig it's pretty disappointing but the really only sure fire way to get a good fire type is to use ponyta... now don't get me wrong ponyta is a great pokemon it's just sad that there are so few fire types in diamond and pearl.

∙ 12y agomooo Pokemon dimond and perl boooo play Pokemon yellow, fire,blue,ruby,green leaf, the best drangon is charmander lol the best fire Pokemon on perl and stuff is inferno some crap like that i had Pokemon platimon i was the best until some idiot stole it from my school! the barstard! :(

∙ 15y agoBefore clearing the League, you can only have Infernape or Rapidash. And if you didn't chose Chimchar as your starter, your only option is to get a Ponyta and start training.
