What you SHOULD drink:
LOTS of water, not hot, not cold, but at ROOM TEMPERATURE; cold water is bad for your voice
Herbal Teas at ROOM TEMPERATURE
and this isn't an official one, but apparently Gatorade is good for your voice, it's something about the electrolytes. But not any of the other ones, JUST GATORADE
Pineapple Juice is good because there are chemicals that reduce swelling in the muscles in your throat.
Apple juice! It has the same pH level as your saliva (gross right?) But it won't hurt your voice.
What you SHOULDN'T drink:
any hot drinks or thick drinks, those are bad
Tea (there are exceptions, as listed above)
Dairy Products coat your throat and stay on there for a long time
Even though some people say that hot drinks are good for your voice, most of the times it's wrong. Hot drinks are only for NON SINGERS!!! Remember that the VERY BEST thing for your voice is water at ROOM TEMPERATURE, and anything at room temperature is better thatn cold drinks. Avoid sodas, because they make your throat drier.

When you take voice lessons, you need to attend each lesson with a strong voice. It is best to drink plenty of water or warm tea with honey to make sure the vocal cords are strong enough to practice singing. If you have a sore throat or a cold, it would be best to not attend lessons until you get better.
