You should never use pine or cedar bedding for your pet hamster. Cedar bedding is a rough material that can cause splintering, chapped feet and is almost impossible to correctly digest. Worse yet, cedar reacts to urine, causing toxic fumes called phenols to be released as long as it is in contact with the ammonia. While pine may be a bit softer on a hamster's feet, it often goes through a curing process that leaves dangerous chemicals on the product. The best kind of bedding is aspen shavings and carefresh, you can also try using shredded unscented toilet paper.
a warm blanket in a cage
a hamster cage
The best kind of cage you can get for your hamster is a wire cage with a plastic bottom. It is well ventilated and the hamster can climb.
Its a small or kind of big cage with a plastic bottom and wire top. You put bedding in it and toys. Then a hamster. Go on google images and you can see one. Wow dude. You didn't know that? What part didn't you get? HAMSTER, OR CAGE??????? Yea I'm sorry but that was a gay question. Whats a hamster cage? Really!
the best cage for a hamster (if you have a cat) would be a plastic one not a wire cage. but still keep the cage away from your cat as much as you can so the cat doesn't knock it over or something.
Here are the list of the things you will need: *A cage (not too big) *Bedding (do not use sawdust because it might get in the hamster's "system") to put inside the cage for them to walk on and burrow in *Water/Hamster food (you should get the kind of water bottle that you can hook onto the cage that hangs down) *A hamster wheel *A few small hamster toys to keep them entertained *(Optional) A Ball for them to roll around in outside of their cage. *And A gentle hand! :]
You can't really improve a hamster cage when you have animals that might hurt your hamster in the house. The best cage is the Cage that has all the requirments of a normal cage. If you have animals at home that might hurt your animal, place it in a secure high location that your animal will not reach. For more Information, visit: wwwhamsterownerswebs.webs.com
Wow! You picked a unique one-of-a-kind hamster! Yes this is normal. She wants to make the best nest possible to sleep in! So let her build her nest in peace and THEN you can play with her! ^^
I just got a hamster and the pet store gave him to me in woodshavings. Then i realized that his skin became irritated. So what I did was hop on line and learned that TOILET PAPER!!! was the best kind of bedding. Its easier to clean and your hamster will love it because its fun to burrow in. When I switched bedding's my hamster Gible became the most happiest hamster Ive ever seen.
The bigger the cage the better but not so big because your Hamster will do its buisness in more places which means that it'll take more time to clean. Depending on your size of Hamster, the depending of the size of cage. For more Information, visit: www.hamsterownerswebs.webs.com
Noooooooo its really bad it even say in books the pine and cedar are really bad it has poison to the hamsters lungs, if you want to be safe i suggest you get careFRESH which is soft and good absorbency and odor control or aspen but i suggest careFRESH
Why do hamsters burrow ? Because they have a sense of safeness and warmness in a burrow the hamster is safe and warm that is why your cage should contain small areas that your hamster can burrow in.
