German is a really good language to use unless you live in Germany. If you use the language of the country that you live in then it can confuse the dog when you are talking to other people. For instance if you train your dog that the word NO means bad or stop and you tell your wife "No I don't want any more dinner." the dog will not know why you are telling them no or bad. A different language will not be confusing with your normal conversations
