There is not just one most powerful card. Throughout the magic years there have been 9 cards that surface as the most powerful and the most feared. They were all printed in Alpha and I really Really hate them (just because I dont have them)
the Power 9 are:
Mox Jet
Mox Sapphire
Mox Ruby
Mox Emerald
Mox Pearl
Black Lotus
Ancestral Recall
Time Twister
Time Walk
These cards are worth hundreds of dollars a piece
Answer
The 'power nine' are notably more powerful then nearly anything that came after. However the card 'Black Lotus' is generally considered to be the most powerful.
Talking from the standpoint of best in just about any deck, Black Lotus. It allows any kind of deck to accellerate into a win condition or an answer. However, it is difficult to just say there is a best card in magic. It could be quite easy to say that island is the best card, as most high level tournament players favor blue. Trinisphere kills most type 1 decks ability to win on it's own, Force of Will is a nearly free counterspell, Delver of secrets has been dominating standard until recently, and Heartless Hidesugu wins Elder Dragon Highlander games in 5 minutes.
While I wouldn't say that Black Lotus is not magic's best card, it is it's most expensive/well known card.
Magic's most powerful card (in the context of vintage/type 1, which is the best indicator of the game's history) is yawgmoth's will or ancestral recall.
Well that depends. when it comes to creatures, i'd say blightsteel colosuss. Its an indestructible 11/11 with infect and trample. This means it can directly kill another player by giving them 11 poison counters when it hits them directly. Out of the 2 legal creatures that can win with one attack, this is the cheapest for 11 colorless mana. The other, marit large, is summoned when you remove ten ice counters from dark depths. Each counter costs 3 colorless to remove, so in the end you pay 30 mana for a 20/20 that wins with one direct attack, instead of an 11/11 that's indestructible, has trample, and can kill in one attack. The only other card that can kill in one attack is not legal (the B.F.M).
By far, Progenitus. It is a 10/10 Legendary Hydra Avatar that costs two of each basic land mana to cast. It has 'Protection from everything', and if it is sent to your graveyard, it gets shuffled back into your library; kind of like a never dying card. However, when the Rise of Eldrazi expansion is released, this may no longer be the case.
creature: Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
cost: 15 mana
Power/Toughness: 15/15
Type: Legendary Creature - Eldrazi
Rules Text:
Emrakul, the Aeons Torn can't be countered.
When you cast Emrakul, take an extra turn after this one.
Flying, protection from colored spells, annihilator 6
When Emrakul is put into a graveyard from anywhere, its owner shuffles his or her graveyard into his or her library
If you're using power according to its technical meaning in mtg (power = how much damage a creature does), then the answer is B.F.M. (Big Furry Monster), which has 99 power. However, it's from Unglued, a humurous set they released several years ago, so it isn't legal to play in any official format. Krosan Cloudscraper has 13 power, and its legal in all formats but standard (the strictest and most prestigious format). Denizen of the Deep has 11 power, and it's legal in standard.
Now since there is more creatures, Emrakul, the Eons Torn with 15/15 with annihilator 6 is most powerful.
It depends on the type of game...
Casual: Anything from the Power 9.
Legacy: Black Lotus
Standard: Jace the Mind Sculptor
Its a matter of opinion but I personally like to have "Wrath of God" and "Armageddon" simply because they are game changer cards. Armageddon destroys all lands ans WoG destroys all creatures.
The most powerful car is generally considered to be 'Black Lotus'.
The Wikipedia claims that the Black Lotus is the most valuable card ever.
magic the gathering is the best card game in the world
It depends on when the card was printed, however most are a thin layer of plastic sandwiched between paper or stock.
$.25 as per Channelfireball.com Channelfireball is the standard that most people go by for MTG prices.
Magic: the Gathering
Love is the most powerful thing
There really is no "BEST" card; partially because it is highly subjective, and partially because very few cards do much by themselves. If one card must be picked, then the standard answer is "Black Lotus"(which is banned in most tournaments).
in most trading card games like MTG or yugioh cards have effects that weaken your opponent, aid your creatures etc.
Magic: The Gathering is difficult to pick up on right off the bat. Most games like Yu-Gi-Oh are incredibly difficult to figure out strategies and be successful at.
Most of the time : yes.
well i,m not sure but the most powerful card I saw is the skeletel dragon
Booster boxes of magic the gathering can be picked up at most trading card stores. Or online at many gaming websites. Some that I have personally used are www.trollandtoad.com and www.starcitygames.com. Both sites offer booster boxes, and singles so you can order single cards that you may be looking for. I hope that helps.
