"Kindle" is the trademarked name of a tablet reader hardware/software developed and offered by Amazon. Barnes and Noble offers "NOOK" and Apple offers iPad, which can be used for the same purpose. Sony has "Reader," which costs a bit more than Amazon and BN's digital readers. iPad is much more versatile and costs more. Expect to pay around $150 for Amazon and BN's models, with free G3 included with the BN model; the Sony reader is around $190, and iPad starts at $500. Which model is "best" is up to you.
