His name is Ho-Oh and he is not the best Pokemon. The best Pokemon depends on what kind of trainer you are. It might be your starter Pokemon or it might be Ho-Oh. It deppends...All Pokemon are good if you train them well and if you love them. Like my favorite Pokemon is either Espion, Polytoad, Maganium, Kingler, Amphros, Cyndaquil, and Nidoking. And yes i have all of these Pokemon. See i love these Pokemon and they are great and I think they are better than Ho-Oh. It just matters what Pokemon you like!!!! :P and here is just a helpful tip... Pick Pokemon that you like and also pick them so that they cover each others weaknesses. like a fire Pokemon, a grass Pokemon, and a water Pokemon. because if you are fighting a electric Pokemon you can use the grass or fire Pokemon to fight it and not the water Pokemon. The best Pokemon in terms of versatility is probably arceus except you can only get it through an event. The strongest Pokemon are legendaries such as ho-oh, kyogre and mewtwo. You get these very late in the game though. When looking for Pokemon look for ones with good base stats. Not every Pokemon is good for instance try completing the game with a beedrill. Ho-oh is the strongest Pokemon in the game however for wild Pokemon some of the best are arcanine, dragonite, mamoswine, scizor and jolteon, which is easily the best evolution of eevee. The best starter is probably feraligatr (totodile). Arcanine is better than typhlosion and meganium is useless. And don't have a water and grass on the same team. They have very similar super effectives.

Actually best starter is Typhlosion (Cyndaquil) and Mewtwo and Dragonite are strongest, Mewtwo is legendary and if caught is it at Lvl. 70!
