First of all, hunting over bait is illegal. "Field Plots," often a cultivated field of clover is an effective, and legal, way to attract deer, especially in the east. In the west where soybeans are a common crop, setting up watch on the edge of such a field is probably the best and easiest way to descry the animals.
For non-hunting applications, feeders filled with corn will certainly attract deer. Salt licks can also supply much needed nutrients.

First off, I don't know who left this message. Baiting deer is only illegal in states that make it that way. I hunt in some of the thickest nastiest areas in Washington state and if we weren't able to use some kind of attractant, we would never kill the 40,000 deer a year that we do. Our state would be over run. I personally use a compressed corn and molasses block. The deer love this stuff. C'mereDeer is a good one as well, but they literally eat all of it and you have to keep replacing it. The blocks last anywhere from 4 days to 2 weeks depending on deer concentrations. Oh, and if there is a moose in the area, your block won't last near as long.
Good Luck

I agree with the second poster.. If your gonna answer a question.. make sure you know what your talking about.
each state has its own set of laws pertaining to baiting.. make sure you know the law about baiting in your area before doing it.
Apples work great .. Peanut butter is good.. corn is a good bait especially when the snow is on the ground and there is not much to eat.
I like to use apples and corn together.. just dump them on the ground right next to each other..
Good luck !!
only on private land.
Yes, you can bait deer in some areas, but regulations vary by state and region. It's important to check local laws governing baiting practices, as some places may have restrictions or specific seasons when baiting is allowed. Additionally, ethical considerations and the potential impact on deer health and behavior should be taken into account when deciding to bait.
