What is the best razor for a 15-yr-old boy starting to shave - how many blades and which type of razor?

Electric razor only
If you don't want him to ever risk a shaving cut, an electric would do it.
If he's shaving his face, I'd get him something like an Atra razor--two blades in a cartridge. A 15-year-old's facial hair isn't stiff enough to need more than two blades.
If he's shaving his head, go with a Mach 3.
Question is what u shave ? Is ur upper lip or down there ? Shaving cream and a blade razor will give u the best. After u smooth !

The five-blade razors are good too, but the blades are really expensive. Boys starting to shave don't have really hard-to-cut hair on their faces, so probably when you consider performance against price a Mach 3 would be his best choice. However...just about any razor on the market today will work well for him, with the exception of single-blade Bic disposables. No one should get those.
