What is the best skill to get to 99 on RuneScape?

it all depends on how you train it, fishing is probably the easiest skill to get very wealthy in, but crafting and even magic (after a certain level) can become very profitably, combat can be very profitable if you have high enough levels to slay dragons and things like that. woodcutting can be very profitable as well, once you reach the levels required for yews and magics

Probably either the Defence one or the Prayer one.

There isn't really a best one since all of them come with their perks and abilities. Like mining ores is faster at 99 than say 30. Same with other skills like woodcutting, fishing and many more.

Actualy there are good skills to get 99. If ur looking for cash get 91 runecrafting and then double nats up to 99 runecrafting. after that u can make lots of cash and then get skill capes like herb, prayer, and other costly capes. my frits 99 was my att and my sec is hp. Now working on rune crafting 94 ATM and its so worth it. but don't think its easy to get cause its not takes times and some cash to star off. u need at less 1m to star training RC cause when u star u don't lose no money what so ever.

Magic gives you the most opptions. With strong attacks as well as teliports and other useful spells. Magic is much better than Range because you can attack from a distance and use other non-combat spells. The only bad side is that it costs money to train and use Magic. If you want a cheap way get level 60 attack 60 defense and 60 strength. Then you will be able to wear and use dragon weponds and armor (some quests most be completed) and then just train Strength.

Also Prayer is very helpful in any type of battle.

I would say that it is Mining, At level 85+ on both members and free worlds it is possible to make over 500,000gp in about 30 minutes. The way you do this is simply by going into the wilderness near the lava maze there are 2 rune rocks that can be mined in f2p and 4 in the dungeon in the center of the lava maze for p2p players. Rune ore currently sells for about 15,000gp each so you can make 30,000-60,000gp in about 2-3 minutes (provided you are not attacked by revenants/Pkers) and then simply switch worlds because the respawn rate for rune rocks is between 10-20 minutes simply repeat this until you have 28 ore then go into the KBD dungeon and use a ring of dueling to teleport to al kaharid.

Cooking is also a good one to make money with. In cooking when you make food you can sell it for example a red berry pie can be sold for 209gp at the GE and you only need to spend 8gp to get the stuff you need (from beefy bills).

tbh no skill is fun to level up, magic can be the funnest but easiest/cheapest is firemaking.
