Try the Littman Classic II Se or III Se, whatever number they are currently up to. These are great all purpose scopes for R.N. use. They sound great and last forever. Most of what you will be doing (BP, Breath Sounds, NG Placement, Etc.) can be done very well with the classic Littman. The Cardio docs will probably be running around with specialized scopes, but they are primarily concerned with heart tones, murmurs, etc. For the average RN, spend the 70 or 80 bucks and get the Littman, you won't be sorry... Just don't get the funky Sprague dual tube thing. I know it comes in pretty colors, but it sucks...
