If you have a good vacuum cleaner just vac the excess amounts up, then use a damp cloth to get the rest. ABC power is nontoxic so a little bit on your hands or inhaled won't hurt you, I've recharged many thousands of them over the years and I'm still here

What type of fire extinguisher do you use when a chemical fire occurs?

It depends upon the type of chemical that is burning, but frequently it is safe to use a dry-chemical powder (DCP), or an ABC type of extinguisher. However, boiling grease fires may need a Class K extinguisher and flammable metals (aluminum, magnesium, lithium, etc) may need a Class D extinguisher.

What type of fire extinguisher is the best to douse an electrical fire?

Class C - it will be indicated with a blue circle. It uses a dry chemical to put out the flames. These types of extinguisher are often found as BC or ABC-class extinguishers, which work on any of the listed class of fires.Do NOT use a Class A extinguisher on an energized electrical fire. First turn of the electricity, if that is the only extinguisher you have.class CClass C

Which type of fire extinguisher should be used on an oil fire?

A Class A, B, C, or ABC fire extinguisher works wonders on several different types of fires. A is good for wood, paper, etc. B is good for liquids. C is good for electrical fires. Do not use a Class D, for these are best on metals (such as magnesium).

Class B fire extinguishers are best suited to fight what time to fire?

It depends: a fire that is paper, furniture, would use a soda water to extinguish the flames. Petrol or ignited solvents is best extinguishes using dry powder, or foam. A soda water extinguisher would simply spread the flames and make it far worse. In a boat, a foam extinguisher is best. A carbon dioxide extinguisher is best in a room of computers, other electrical devices or where you don't want too much damage to equipment or papers.

What type of fire extinguisher is the most commonly found on campus?

A classroom would generally contain only "ordinary combustibles", so a type A fire extinguisher would be appropriate. In a chemistry laboratory, cooking class, automobile engines, electrical or welding class, different rules would dictate the type, placement and number of required fire extinguishers, typically Type ABC (multi-class).

Proper fire extinguisher for a electrical fire?

ABC, BC or C. It is often best to disconnect the electrical power and use an extinguisher appropriate for whatever type of fuel happens to be burning (A or B). Do NOT use a water-type A fire extinguisher on an energized electrical fire.

What fire extinguisher for flammable liquid?

The best type of fire extinguisher for use on flammable liquid fires is a portable fire extinguisher that can extinguish every single class of fire as defined by EN3 (A-B-E-D-F), NFPA/ANSI/UL (A-B-C-D-K) standards. This class of extinguisher should also be capable of extinguishing, in the flammable liquids class (B), both polar and non-polar fuels (polar: alcohols, ethers and esters; non-pollar: gasoline, etc.). In-depth research will show that in the last 100-years only a new Technology known as FFC (Fire Fighting Catalyst) by FireStopper® has produced the only reliable, independently tested and rated, listed, all fire-class effective fire extinguisher that meets the above requirements and more. As an added bonus, this new water-based "Green" Technology is freeze resistant to -100°F (-73.3°C) without harmful anti-freeze additives usable in the harshest environments of the planet.

Electrical fires are best extinguished using?

Baking Soda & Class-C or ABC Fire ExtinguisherIf a fire extinguisher is not available and the fire is small, dousing it with enough baking soda can put it out. If you have one, use a class-C or multi-purpose ABC fire extinguisher to put out the flames. You can not use any other kind of fire extinguisher on an electrical fire (the extinguisher should be clearly marked, but if it's not and you're not sure what kind it is, don't use it)NEVER-EVER-EVER-use water on an electrical fire as it could cause electrocution-use a class-A fire extinguisher on an electrical fire.

Which fire extinguisher is best foam or powder?

Each one has its advantages and drawbacks, depending upon circumstances. For example, dry powder residue may be very difficult to clean from the area surrounding its use (assuming it put the fire out), but it is often a general-purpose extinguishing agent that can be used on several types of fires. A foam extinguisher may contain water that would not be safe near energized electrical fires (unlike dry chemical powders), but may cover a larger area of fire with a smothering blanket of foam.
