In single player the best and only way is to mine. For best results, mine in the bottom 16 blocks of the map. It will take a long time though. In multiplayer, you may buy it so this could be a cheap way, voting for the server, which is free but requires some time and may not even be available and you may even be given it as a gift which is very good. Griefing it is a bad idea, you will be banned unless it is a griefing server.

Make sure you have a furnace and crafting table with you make a wooden pickaxe dig down to layer 13 or 11. If you find iron, make iron ingots and make a iron pick axe. When you find diamonds, just mine it

My advice is, don't worry about it. From my experiences, I am more likely to find diamonds doing something else, like exploring a cave system, or looking for iron and coal.

Can you make your own diamonds for under 100 dollars?

You may be able to write about one, paint one, photograph one or otherwise represent one, but it is not possible for you to 'make' a diamond for less than 100 dollars. However, you can visit Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas, USA, and for US$8.00 as an entry fee, dig for diamonds and keep whatever diamonds you find. Mother Nature makes the best diamonds.

How can I get diamonds in minecraft?

First off, you must know that diamonds are extremely rare to find in Pocket Edition. If you want to find diamonds the easy way, make a new world, and type in jpgaming for the seed. 100% of the time you will find diamonds if you dig straight down from the spawning point. I would reccomend putting dirt or something around the spawining point so you remember where it is because you have to make your house, mine, craft etc. Hope this works!
