You can't kill anything without it getting hurt, so instead of killing it, catch it and let it go outside, this may be hard but try it, otherwise use sticky paper. The easiest way to get a fly outside without hurting it is wait till it is dark outside, turn out all lights in the house, turn on a porch light or outside light, open a door that has a screen door but leave the screen door closed till the fly goes toward the light, and then let the fly out. This also works for moths and some other kinds of insects.
