The technique that is the easiest way to learn guitar is also the technique that has been around the longest. It's the tried and true method of learning popular songs, or portions of songs, right away, in short, focused, and enjoyable lessons. Technical and music theory lesson is delayed until much later lessons when the student has gained a foothold and more importantly, gained confidence.

One on one guitar lessons are the most effective, but can be very expensive. I suggest looking for the right program on the web. However, there are many guitar lessons online, but I would look for one that uses some form of the above method using a very visual system, like video.

Hi. The way I learned, was I went from one chord to another. I suggest that you start with a simple chord progession. Then move to a song like, One by Metallica, then move to a song like The Unforgiven by Metallica. Then start writting your own stuff. Here's a good chord proggression.

Second Finger on the Third Fret 1st string, First finger on the second fret 2nd string, third finger on the third fret on the 5th string, and your forth finger on the Third fret 6th string. Now strum down. You have just played a G sus4.

Second finger on the third Fret 2nd string, First finger on the second fret 3rd string, third finger on the third fret on the 5th string, and your forth finger on the Third fret 6th string. Now strum down. You have just played a C sus4.

First finger on the second fret 4th string, Third finger on the third fret 5th string, and forth finger on the third fret 6th string. Now strum down. You just played a D sus4.

First finger on the second fret 4th string, Third finger on the third fret 5th string, second finger second fret 6th string. Now strum down. You just played a D.

First finger on the second fret 4th string, Third finger on the third fret 5th string, and 6th string is to be played open (no finger on it). Now strum down you just played a weird chord I came up with.

Put them all together and you get a good up beat lick. Hope that helps.

There really is no "best" way, but here are some tips:

Start with an axe that's not a piece of crap and have it set-up by a pro. The better your axe plays and the better it sounds; the more likely you are to spend time with it.

Practice what will make you better- guys sit around and play the same crap all the time and they never get any better so they live in their mom's basement. Practice what you DON'T know- once you know what you didn't know they calls that learnin'.

Prob MOST important- play with other people every chance you get. Ask questions- trade licks- join a band. Besides a smokin' chick magnet- you'll be a well-rounded player.

Good luck and have fun!

The best and easiest way to learn 12 string acoustic or electric guitar is to practice and practice. It does also help if the person can read music and already knows how to play a six string guitar to some extent.

Is it harder to learn on an acoustic guitar?

I think it doesn't matter if you learn on an acoustic guitar or an electric guitar. One thing to know is that steel strings are hard on your fingers until the ends of your fingers start to toughen up, so sometimes it is an advantage to start off learning on a nylon string acoustic guitar. But it doesn't really matter, use what ever guitar you have but it is hard at the start and you need to persevere.

Can you learn the same on classical and acoustic guitar?

yes but there are some differences when we play guitar acustic and electric

Is it harder to learn to play on one guitar or to learn to play on different guitars?

If the question is is it harder to learn to play one guitar THAN it is to learn to play several different guitars at the same time, then in my opinion, it is easier to learn to play by using only one guitar. Start with a 6 string guitar, maybe an acoustic guitar. Get used to that one particular guitar. Then graduate to another guitar, same acoustic type but larger. The frets are the same but the feel is different. then go on to an electric guitar. I've played piano for a long time and I've learned to feel the vibrations the sounds create. Same with the guitar. I need to feel the vibrations. The electric guitar doesn't give much vibrations; so, I prefer the acoustic. Graduate to the base guitar (different guitar altogether). Now it's only 4 strings (unless you're adventuresome and go with a 5-string . . .) Maybe this explanation will help.

My acoustic guitar is missing a sixth string is there a vidio on YouTube for lessons for it still?

Nope. But you can buy the 6th string and be able to watch every lesson and learn the guitar the proper way.

Is a acoustic guitar the easiest to play?

No, but it's best to play acoustic then move onto electric, because if you learn electric first, then transition to acoustic your fingers will be used to electric guitar strings and won't be tough enough to play chords well on an acoustic.

Does guitar class in high school require an acoustic or electric guitar?

The big difference between these types of guitar is that an electric is much quieter than an acoustic. In a high school class full of teenagers a student with an electric guitar will not be able to be heard by the teacher. This is a BIG detriment to one's progression with the instrument. Most classes require an acoustic guitar but technically you can still learn in a group setting with a quieter electric guitar.

Which is best for an 11 year old to learn on a electric or acoustic guitar?

It's really up to them. Though, I would suggest an electric guitar since it is easier to learn on; but after learning how to play an acoustic guitar first, the electric should be much easier. You should consider going to a music store and let them decide which one they are more comfortable playing, you may decide to buy both!

What is the perfect song to learn on acoustic or electric guitar for advancing beginner?

Is an acoustic guitar a good guitar for beginners?

Not really. That is, an acoustic guitar is not any more of a "beginner's" instrument than an electric guitar is. It might be cheaper, and it may be quieter (or possibly not: you can practice an electric guitar without actually plugging it in, or with headphones), both of which are reasons parents might choose to purchase a child an acoustic guitar instead of an electric one. If you learn to master an acoustic, then you will have an easier time learning to play an electric. This is simply because acoustic guitars require more precision to make each note ring true. Also: an acoustic requires more finger pressure and therefore more finger strength and calluses. An electric is easier on the finger tips, but is also more sensitive as far as technique. My best answer is to practice on both to develop the most versatility. But if sound is an issue, an electric is quieter if you don't plug it into an amp.

What is the difference between electric guitar and acoustic guitar?

A true acoustic guitar in terms of building is more sophisticated , it is larger too. It has less access to higher frets for most models and are made out of different woods usually for the body. It has no electronics unless you get an "Electric acoustic" like say an Ovation or something like a Fender. They are much , much louder I would not recommend them for apartment buildings especially if you're a beginner. The acoustic is hollow as well. the electric guitar is easier to make , usually it's one piece of mahogany , alder or whatever, smaller in size and thinner. There are more frets , the electronics on them you'll be able to spot a mile away. Without the electronics plugged in it's essentially a fancy acoustic guitar. They are much quieter without an amplifier which is to say excellent to learn on and great for any situation.
