This is a highly subjective question. Of course, there is no 'best way' of loving. People across the world have loving relationships in a vast panoply of ways. Common advise given to people wishing to maintain relationships is the need for solid, regular and open communication and the willingness to compromise and respect your partner's needs and desires.

One piece of advise that is popular is the concept of separating the act of loving from the feeling of love, although we use the same word for both in our language.

To love someone takes dedicated effort. One must show care and compassion towards their partner; look after them and show concern for their needs and well-being. One must show affection and tenderness and a willingness to sacrifice your own precious time, effort, energy, money and anything else for their well-being. One should cultivate a deep involvement with their life. This is the effort that you put in to loving someone. When one does this, and receives the same in return, one experiences the feeling of love.

The act of loving someone is the tilling of the soil and the sowing of the seed; the joyful feeling of love that one experiences as a result is the reaping of the fruit.
