Just like any other piercing... just add bigger gauge jewelry or use tappers i have my ears stretched to an inch and have stretched my lip ring to a 6 it doesn't hurt nearly as bad and heals way faster
Best not to mess with it your self, go see your piercer and for a small fee they can open the piercing using an insertion taper which will stretch the piercing without damaging it.
It may not stretch the hole, but it often does cause stretch marks from the scar if it is already closed.
Whenever you go in for a Monroe piercing, the piercer will take a needle, usually either a 18-16 gauge, and pierce your lip with that. It doesn't leave a big hole at all. But, if you want to gauge your Monroe, then you could have the piercer pierce with a bigger gauged needle, or just gauge it out yourself.
I've got a great solution to your quandary: CALL THEM and ASK.
I know that the hole needs to be stretched and it can be done on your own, but can you stretch just a normal piercing? Or do they do something different?
Once any piercing is *seasoned (*over a year old ), so long as the jewellery is appropriate for the piercing in gauge and length or diameter the piercing will not stretch unless you change it to a larger gauge. So will you have this big gaping hole in your lip? Well no, if you stay with the jewellery you are sized to it should stay the same size during the *life of the piercing (* this is for however long you choose to keep the piercing ).
Depends on how long you have and your body. It will most likely close up but you will probably have a tad bit of scarring.
If you're talking about the jewelry then forever if treated right, if your're talking about the hole then you have to keep it in for 6-8 months to let the hole stay not closed, My piercer told me that and I have a Monroe piercing and I'm getting spiderbites tomorrow.
It isn't "gauging" its stretching. But anyways, yes they can depending on how big you stretch both piercings. Pierce your second hole to where you can stretch each piercing and not get too close.
Yes, but you would be streching the hole, like people stretch their ears.
No it doesn't. If it closes up that means that it's healed and the hole no longer exists. The only way to wear jewelry in it is to get it pierced again.
It is dangerous to stretch this quickly because it can cause the skin to tear. You should use tapers to slowly stretch the hole to the size of the tunnel you want. You should be able to get tapers from a body piercing shop. Remember to only stretch from one gauge to the next largest, rather than skipping a size, as this can cause tears and scarring.
