i think my dog had this... goop around the eyes mostly. apply really hot water to a washcloth, then rub out the goop and also just lightly hold the washcloth around -- not touching -- the eye. this helped. however a vet can give you a cream for it. but its really expensive that way.
"polysporn" You buy it over the counter at the drug store. It works very well.
It is best to visit vet but if not able you can buy Gentamycin at your drug store or as other answer polysporin for "Eyes" Just dispense onto the cats eye.Best not to touch with your fingers or any other foreign objects.Anything you use to wipe eyes must not be used from one eye to other.Always use one clean cloth for one eye then another for other eye.You can infect 1 eye to the other if not careful.Also best to use cooled boiled water to clean..Best Of Luck!
My vet actually told me that I can put contact solution in the eyes to flush them out... both for my dogs and my cat... now that's a cheap remedy!
