I've done some checking and have asked this same question. The best bet is to do a search and look for deals. I've found too that if you go directly to the airlines web site, you might get a little cheaper price. So if you want to fly American or United go to their web sites. Priceline also has the option to "name your own price". You can put in a bid for a price, but you need to be flexible on your travel days and times.

The problem with Priceline is that you have to fly when THEY tell you! You have no choice! -- and they TELL you that. So - forget Priceline...
